The next East Suffolk Lines of guided walk takes place on Saturday 18 March.
A circular walk from Melton Station, the nine mile ramble includes tidal marshes, oak woodland, and sandy heaths, leading to the National Trust's Sutton Hoo estate, an archaeological site of outstanding international importance.
Participating in the walk is FREE of charge and open to the public with the walks set to follow country footpaths, bridleways and tracks. The walk begins at Melton station at 9.36am following the arrival of the 8:28 Greater Anglia train service from Felixstowe (change at Ipswich), the 9:17 train from Ipswich, and the 8:07 train from Lowestoft.
The walk is being led by Eric Wallis and is expected to take around four and a half hours. All are welcome including well-behaved dogs; return trains from Melton run at :13 minutes past the hour to Ipswich and 36 minutes past the hour to Lowestoft.
It is recommended that you bring along your own drink and snack, wear suitable footwear and waterproof clothing. All participants take part entirely at their own risk.
