The next East Suffolk Lines of guided walk takes place on Saturday 22 July.

A circular walk starting and ending at Woodbridge station, the 8 mile - 5 hour ramble will take the route of a figure of 8 up the Deben estuary to Melton then through woods back to Woodbridge Market Hill for lunch, afterwards to Martlesham Creek and back along the Deben. Fine estuary views, historic towns, woodlands and parks.

The walk starts from Woodbridge station forecourt at 10:35 following the arrival of the 10:17 train from Ipswich, the 09:07 train from Lowestoft, and the 9:28 train from Felixstowe (change at Ipswich). Return trains from Woodbridge are at :18 past to Ipswich / Felixstowe, and at :32 past to Lowestoft hourly.

Participating in the walk is FREE of charge and open to the public. Booking IS NOT required. Just show up on the day! All are welcome including well-behaved dogs.

It is recommended that you bring along your own drink and snack, wear suitable footwear and waterproof clothing. All participants take part entirely at their own risk.

  • Cost/Booking: The walk is free of charge and there is no need to book. Just show up on the day. No insurance cover is provided – all participate at own risk.
  • Equipment: Wear stout comfortable footwear and have waterproofs as the route could be muddy if wet.
  • Dogs: Well-behaved dogs welcome but must be on a lead.
